Who is it for?
- Those wishing to learn basic life support for children and infants
- Includes treatment for bleeding and burns
Course content includes:
- Personal safety, assessing the incident
- Priorities: DRSAB check and sending for help
- Unconscious child/infant
- Breathing and circulation
- Resuscitation for children & infants
- Choking
- Dealing with blood loss
- Burns
There will also be opportunities do discuss identification and treatment of less serious, but more common medical problems such as:
- Febrile Convulsions
- Croup
- High Temperatures
- Knocks & Bumps
- Head Injuries
- Bites & Stings
Qualification
- Emergency life support (children)certificate, valid for three year
